DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS PANEL; DVT PANEL

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is one of the three major cardiovascular causes of death along with Myocardial infarction and Stroke. The three common factors leading to DVT are venous stasis, hypercoagulability, and changes in the endothelial blood vessel lining (such as physical damage or endothelial activation)—contribute to DVT and are used to explain its formation.

  • Pre-test Information:
    Overnight fasting is preferred. Give brief clinical history. It is recommended that patient discontinues Heparin for 1 day and Oral Anticoagulants for 7 days prior to sampling as these drugs may affect test results. Discontinuation should be with prior consent from the treating Physician.

    Sample Daily by 3 pm; Report Next day
