Overview

What is CHROMOSOME ANALYSIS (KARYOTYPE), BLOOD ?

Karyotype is a preparation of the complete set of chromosomes in an individual sorted by various features. This provides the structural features of each chromosome thereby detecting congenital and structural chromosomal / genetic abnormalities in a blood sample. These abnormalities include defects in number, deletions, duplications, translocations & inversions. However for more detailed information, microarray is the recommended technique.
