NICKEL, 24-HOUR URINE

Hypernickelemia has been observed in patients undergoing renal dialysis. Breathing dust high in nickel content has been observed in neoplasms of respiratory system and nasal sinuses. Most reactions to nickel cause skin sensitivity and allergy. 24 hour urine is the specimen of choice for determining nickel exposure via inhalation.
