MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS PANEL 2

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease of CNS characterized by chronic inflammation, demyelination, gliosis & neuronal loss. The disease course can be relapsing or progressive. It is 3 fold more common in women than men and usually presents between 20 to 40 years of age. Well established risk factors are genetic predisposition, vitamin D deficiency, Epstein-Barr virus infection after early childhood & smoking.

    The collection date and time must be the same for both CSF & serum specimens. Strictly adhere to CSF specimen volumes.
  • Report Delivery:
    LPL: Sample Daily by 9 am; Report Next day USA: Sample by 7th of the Month; Report after 2–3 weeks.
