ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (TEM)

This test analyzes parenchymal tissues at very high magnifications and is critical in diagnosing certain diseases where pathological features are not discernible under light microscopy. TEMs find application in diagnostic pathology, cancer research, virology, materials science as well as pollution, nanotechnology, and semiconductor research. The high magnification of the electron microscope enables observations not possible by light microscopy, and electron microscopy is considered to be an essential component of human diagnostic renal pathology, neuromuscular pathology, and is a useful tool in difficult cases in oncosurgical pathology .
