Qualification:

  • Ph.D., in Clinical Cytogenetics from VIT University, Vellore

Expertise:

  • Direction, training, and supervision of cytogenetics technical staff including specimen handling, specimen testing, and specimen reporting, in an accurate and expedient manner while ensuring client and patient confidentialities.
  • Interpret final specimen results, prepare and review specimen for final test reports, and report final results on a case by case basis.
  • Direct and manage work flow of the cytogenetics laboratory to accommodate specimen intake and expected test report turn-around-time.
  • Establish, review, and maintain standard operating procedure manuals and quality control practices as required by the regulatory and licensing agencies (CLIA, CAP, etc.).
  • Direct and supervise cytogenetics technical staff in the performance of validations for new assays and the introduction in the test repertoire.
  • Management of all safety, regulatory, and quality controls and quality assurance concerns, and cytogenetics direct technical staff in the performance of corrective measures.
  • Culturing and maintenance of the bone marrow cells and the study of the cancers in the humans successfully.
  • Successfully implemented and practicing a novel cytogenetic technology “Interphase Chromosome Profiling (ICP)” for the first time in India.

  • Experience of over 6 years in the field of Cytogenetics and Tissue culture divisions of healthcare and clinical reference labs, currently spearheading and signing off Cytogenetics and FISH reports
  • A certified internal auditor for NABL and certified inspector CAP with 6 years of experience in Clinical Laboratory, Hospital and CRO Product/ Process Improvement and Resource & Quality Management
  • Has signing authority for Cytogenetic and FISH reports from National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and College of American Pathologist (CAP)
  • Proficiency in preparing SOP’s in all sections of Genetics; implementing it the QC procedures as per the CAP and NABL requirement
  • Expertise in CAP,NABL,NABH, Clinical Trails ,CLSI regularity requirement for Clinical Laboratory
  • Expertise in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling R&D activities; monitoring research activities through reporting system and advising change as necessary
  • Excellence in mapping processes, identifying bottlenecks & developing sustainable solutions by continuous improvement. Identifying opportunities for cost improvement to improve bottom line
  • Multi-disciplinary professional with expertise in preparing validation reports; interpreting results & providing recommendations
  • In-depth understanding of Lab Planning, project Management/ Quality Management, system validation for a high throughput lab
