Also, for chronic viral hepatitis, the degree of liver fibrosis is an important parameter for decisions on antiviral therapy. Hence, the early detection of fibrosis progression and the development of cirrhosis are important in the management of patients with Chronic Liver Disease.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>A Liver biopsy remains the reference standard for evaluating liver fibrosis. However, it has certain limitations:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Sampling error<br \/>\n\u2022 Risk of complications<br \/>\n\u2022 Misinterpretation of the fibrosis stage<br \/>\n\u2022 Biopsy specimen represents only 1\/50,000th of the total liver mass<br \/>\n\u2022 Cirrhosis can be understaged in 10-30% of cases<br \/>\n\u2022 Resampling is difficult because of the invasive nature and complications, such as pain and bleeding especially when repeated examinations are required to monitor the response to antiviral or anti-fibrosis treatment<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>The Enhanced Liver Fibrosis Test Panel<\/strong><\/span> is a promising non-invasive alternative to determine liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. The test has better automaticity, has high reproducibility, less invasiveness and proven considerable diagnostic performance. Sensitive, accurate and non-invasive markers that can help in the diagnosis are thus of great importance. The correct diagnosis and treatment of this condition is very crucial.
