Senior Management Team
Dr. Om Manchanda is the Chief Executive Officer of
Dr Lal PathLabs, India’s largest medical diagnostics company. Popularly known as ‘Om’ among his friends, colleagues and close business associates, he has a diverse experience of 20 years across sales, marketing and general management functions in business sectors such as FMCG, agri-biotech products, consumer healthcare and medical diagnostics.
Before joining Dr Lal PathLabs in 2005, Manchanda led the International & Innovation group of the Consumer Healthcare Division at Ranbaxy. He was part of the senior management team responsible for launching Ranbaxy’s foray into consumer healthcare.
Prior to Ranbaxy, he worked for Monsanto as the head of Sales and Marketing, where his team successfully launched the company’s first ever biotech product Bt-Cotton.
Earlier, during his tenure with Hindustan Unilever for about 10 years, Manchanda received in-depth exposure in consumer product sales, distribution and marketing. He cherishes the memory of how at Unilever, as the Senior Brand Manager - Innovation, he had led the designing and launching of a tea-based beverage at HLL, which won Unilever's Global Innovation Award. Manchanda considers that award special among the several awards he had received at Unilever.
An MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad; Manchanda is also a Doctor in Veterinary Sciences from HAU, Hisar.
He is an avid reader of management books with his favourite authors being Steven Covey, Jack Welch, Peter M Senge and John Philip Jones.
Mr. Vijender Singh joined Dr Lal PathLabs in March 2006 and is currently working as President-Region I. He has been instrumental in setting up Sales organization, streamlining Logistics and setting up multiple Channels viz-Laboratories, Collection Centre’s and Patient Service Centres to consolidate and enhance services.
He has a total working experience of around 20 years in Sales, Distribution, Strategic planning & Customer service functions. Prior to joining Dr Lal PathLabs, Mr. Vijender Singh worked for Ranbaxy (Global Consumer Healthcare) for about 4 years, Bausch & Lomb for about 6 years and Blow Plast for about 6 years. He has diverse exposure in Channel Management and in start up businesses /markets.
In Ranbaxy, he was serving the newly established Global Consumer Healthcare Division targeted to make a mark in the global OTC and herbal products market with a set of brands to start with. There, he was responsible for setting up the Sales & Distribution SOP’s, New Product launches, channel management etc.
During the tenure with Bausch & Lomb, he was entrusted with multiple channel management like Distributors, Whole sellers and Dealers. Other than sales management he has successfully managed the entire cost control exercise in CBU. He was an integral part to set up After sales services, Brand visibility etc.
In Blow Plast Limited, he was associated with Leo Mattel toys and was into multi channel management, done a market research/analysis Hotwheels miniature car and honoured with highest sales award for Hot Wheels in 1993.
Mr. Vijender Singh is a Post Graduate in Business Administration and a science graduate.
Mr. Hemant Sultania is a Chartered Account by profession and is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Dr Lal PathLabs. He is a seasoned professional with around 15 years of experience. He is overall responsible for the entire financial health of the company and reports to the CEO.
Mr. Sultania’s role involves helping in planning and designing internal control systems at Dr Lal PathLabs, towards the accomplishment of corporate business goals. Key believer in decentralization of authority along with responsibility but ensuring controls are in place and reviewing through various tools like performance against budgeting, daily/ fortnightly/ monthly MIS etc.
Mr. Sultania’s expertise helps the company in process improvement, revenue assurance policies, credit administration and cost saving initiatives. Mr. Sultania is involved in business development process mainly acquisitions / mergers of other labs. He is Involved in target identification, negotiation and execution. He regularly reviews the performance of these new labs; assist in proper integration of these labs with other merged and acquired labs.
Mr. Sultania and his team helps is analysis of MIS and providing necessary recommendations to the board of directors. He and his team also handle all legal affairs in the company.
Mr. Sameer Kaul is the Vice President - Marketing at Dr Lal PathLabs, India’s leading diagnostic chain.
Mr. Kaul has a multi-polar professional profile and a versatile background of around 20 years across sales, marketing and operations, across sectors, across organisational cultures and across 3 continents – Australia, USA and India.
Mr. Kaul joined Dr Lal PathLabs in mid 2008 and under his marketing leadership he and his team has successfully been able to create a marketing organisation and introduce many Innovations and Next Practices. He leads the overall marketing strategy of the company at a pan India level. He leads both the B2C and the B2B teams to create a unique positioning for the brand – Dr Lal PathLabs.
Prior to his joining Dr Lal PathLabs, Mr Kaul and his marketing team was directly instrumental in launching and then building a world class, unique brand Windshield Experts in India – part of Asahi India Glass – India’s market leader integrated glass company.
During Mr. Kaul’s tenure at Windshield Experts (2000-2008) the company grew from a single retail unit to a pan India business in 40 cities. He was instrumental in building the brand, scaling up the business, strategic alliances with Insurance companies and in creating a unique positioning for the brand and to provide the brand with a sustainable competitive advantage.
Mr. Kaul also possesses ‘global marketing’ skills acquired through his career experience in a belligerent, fast track U.S.A (New York) business environment.
Mr. Kaul’s career started with a very strong foundation in customer service and process driven environment - at India leading hospitality chain – Oberoi Group. He was instrumental in building the room service operations at the group’s flagship property in Bangalore. He was adjudged as the Best Employee here.
Mr. Kaul has a strong pedigree scholastic background - an MBA from Australia’s top-most B school – Bond University at Gold Coast and other specialised executive programs from India’s leading B- schools.
Mr. Kaul is often invited as a guest speaker at various marketing and management conferences, B schools, and other forums.
He is an avid reader of leadership books and his favourite list includes best sellers from – Ram Charan, Jim Collins, Jack Welch, Steven Covey and many more gurus.
Roopak Vasishtha is the Vice President-Human Resources of Dr Lal PathLabs. He has a total experience of 24 years in hard core HR in diverse fields of Apparel and Automobile industries. Roopak, prior to joining Dr Lal PathLabs, worked with Apparel Export Promotion Council, the Apex body of the exporters of Apparels in India, like CII and FICCI. During his stay with this concern, which employs more than 3000 experts of International Trade in more than 30 locations across India and abroad, he headed its Human Resources function at their corporate office at the famous ‘Apparel House’ in Gurgaon. During his stint there, in addition of the HR functions, he spearheaded the establishment and growth of its education wing, the Apparel Training and Design Center across 25 states. The said institution, at any given moment, imparts training in Apparel Manufacturing Technology (AMT) to more than 15000 students.
Prior to that Roopak worked with Escorts Ltd. in its Yamaha Motorcycle Division. In Escorts, he was instrumental in building a strong 3000 work force of the best of the Engineers and technical hands and training them with the Japanese style of working.
Roopak is a Post Graduate in Business Administration and Human Resources Development. He is currently undergoing Phd in Human Resources.
As a part of his hobby, he is also an approved Announcer with the All India Radio, has given background voice in many films of National Geographic Channel and Films Division of India and has read news in television. He also writes articles for Hindustan Times and various magazines of Human Resources and Industrial relations.
Sandeep has a 18 years of critical experiences handling businesses in various verticals like, sales, marketing, operations and demand planning with companies like Procter & Gamble, Perfetti, PepsiCo & SC Johnson products, both in India, South-East Asia.
Sandeep during his stint with PepsiCo he had driven significant growth of their foods businesses across geographies, cutting across channels, including the rapid expansion in emerging channel of Modern retail where he played a key role in anchoring the business which won him several awards and accolades. During his association with Pepsi, the company launched the iconic brand Kurkure, now the largest brand of salty snacks in the country
Lately Sandeep has been the architect in building, robust sales & distribution model for SC Johnson and has been responsible for building a very profitable business in Eastern & Western parts of country. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Global Roll of Honor in 2010 at the Company headquarters at Racine – Chicago for sustained high performance.
Sandeep is very well known in the FMCG industry circle for his Business & People skills.
Graduate from university of Kolkata – Masters of Business Administration from Institute Modern Management – Kolkata.
Interests – Loves reading autobiographies, actively participated in debates & communication program at University level.
Mr. Bhaskar Ghoshal is a commercial professional with over 17 years of experience across multiple industries like diagnostics, formulations, bulk drugs, hospitals, chemical and rayon. He is presently working with
Dr Lal PathLabs in the capacity of a General Manager (commercial) and is managing the greenfield projects, purchases, stores and lab’s commercial activities. Mr. Ghoshal is responsible for overall project planning, materials procurement and inventory management. He has the ability to translate all local, regional and global strategies into action plans and execute them successfully across all divisions, functions and regions. He also maintains healthy relationships with suppliers and conducts on-going supplier analysis in order to meet the capacity and companies needs.
Prior joining Dr Lal PathLabs, Mr. Ghoshal worked with companies like Metropolis Health Services(I) Ltd, as General Manager, Materials, where he was instrumental in dealing with various multinational companies to bring cost competitiveness in the diagnostics industries. His exposure to the hospital industry has brought professionalism in the Bhatia Hospital. A postgraduate in science with Masters in Management Studies (MMS), Mumbai University ,and a Diploma in Material Management and Export Import Management, he has also handled projects and procurements for chemical formulations, bulk drugs and chemicals in Fermenta Biotech Ltd. and N.R.C. Ltd.
Mr. Munender Soperna joined Dr Lal PathLabs in Sep, 2007 and is currently working as Head IT. He has a rich experience of directing business and technology operations for Healthcare-Pathology, Auto Ancillary, and Power & Consultancy industries to optimize bottom line productivity. He is skilled, is a hands-on technologist in Microsoft Technologies and adepts at quickly putting changes in motion, with direct leadership to development and implementation teams.
He has a visionary ability to take organizational objectives forward and produce real life solutions for long-term success. He has rich experience of managing large-scale business critical projects, which resulted in effective use of technology for reducing turn around time for the customer leading higher satisfaction level. While improving service levels for the customer he was able to optimize cost and effectively manage risk associated with change.
Prior to Dr Lal PathLabs, Mr. Soperna worked with Malana Power Company Ltd. (A unit of LNJ Bhilwara Group) where he was the technical lead for implementation of two ERPs one for Hydropower and another for Consultancy company. Mr. Munender Soperna is a post graduate in Computer Application from Delhi University with Master in Business Administration in Systems. He has been enabling use of technology for business since last Sixteen years across different industries.Mr. Ravindra Kumar is Head-Logistics. He joined Dr Lal PathLabs in June 2007. His responsibilities include inbound and outbound logistics & Consumable management of the business operations. Prior to joining Dr Lal PathLabs, he worked for DTDC Courier & Cargo and GE Money. Ravindra is MBA in International Business & Marketing and has also successfully completed PG Diploma in Supply Chain Management from IMT Ghaziabad. Apart from this he is Green Belt in Six Sigma.
